My name is Dorothy Thackeray. I am the owner of 'Splatter & Spirits'. If you'd like to get to know me a little and see what I am all about, keep reading.

 

I grew up in the rural areas of Western Massachusetts. Even though I'm from a small town, I chose to chase my dreams of going to college for art just outside of NYC. 

 

For as long as I can remember I have had a passion and a drive for everthing art, with the exception of art history. I love every kind of medium and am constantly discovering new ways to impliment them in my work. Going to school for art has improved my skills as well as my knowledge of the art world.

Art, to me is a universal language and form of expressing one's self. A lot of people have the opinion that they "aren't good at art" or just "don't understand it". What they're missing is that anyone can be an artist. Each individual has their own capabilities, strengths and weaknesses. Today, anything is considered art. Modern art has opened up a plethora of different avenues of art and expressing yourself. That is why my philosophy, is anyone and everyone is an artist, in their own unique way.

I have decided to take my love and passion for art, and spread it with others. Thus starting 'Splatter & Spirits by Dorothy'. I hope to inspire others to look for a creative outlet and express themselves through art. 

 

I've always had the motto - I'm not in this for money, I'm in it to make a difference in someone's life. My life goal is to make a difference, and if I accomplish that, then I will be truly happy.
